What Is Involved in the Treatment?

A dental implant consists of an artificial tooth (or dental crown) that is anchored to a post in your jaw. Because the implant is secured within the jawbone and blends in with your other teeth, this treatment is a stable, long-term option for replacing a tooth and restoring your smile.

Dr. Yahav performs every case assessment and implant procedure himself. He will begin by developing an individualized treatment plan that addresses your specific needs and goals. After your consultation, which includes CAD/CAM digital imaging, dental implants can often be completed in one day.

Single implants: Dr. Yahav will surgically place a small titanium post into the bone socket of the missing tooth. The replacement tooth - which will be matched to your other teeth in color, shape, and size - will be attached to the post. As the bone heals around the metal post, the implant will become securely anchored in the jaw. For patients with insufficient bone or gum tissue, Dr. Yahav may need to perform a bone or soft tissue graft as well.

All-on-4® solution: Dr. Yahav also offers the All-on-4® solution, which provides a full set of permanent replacement teeth using just four dental implants per jaw, often without the need for bone grafting. This state-of-the-art procedure is a minimally invasive treatment for patients who need a full upper or lower arch restoration.

The entire treatment is completed in one day while you are comfortably asleep using sedation dentistry. You will wake up to a beautiful, functional full set of replacement teeth that will immediately and dramatically improve your quality of life.

Am I a Good Candidate?

If you have suffered or are at risk of tooth loss, or if you’ve had a previous implant that needs to be rehabilitated, our dental implants might be a good option for you. Most patients who are healthy enough for tooth extraction or other oral surgery can be considered for dental implants. You need to have healthy gums and enough bone to hold the implant, either naturally or after a graft. Most importantly, you must be committed to good oral hygiene and regular dental visits to ensure a successful result.

Patients with chronic illnesses, such as diabetes or leukemia, might not be good candidates due to impaired healing processes. Smoking and using other forms of tobacco can also slow healing. Patients who have had radiation therapy to the head or neck will be evaluated on an individual basis.
